Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: April 19: Navi Mumbai famous for its fine roads, striking landscape, huge sky scrapers, well built complexes, astonishing stations and plush real estate has not only attracted people to purchase flats but have also attracted one of the biggest industries in India, Bollywood. Various movies like Dhoom, Tarzan – The Wonder Car has been shot in Navi Mumbai’s famous Palm Beach Road. Other movies which are shot in Navi Mumbai include, Fanaa by Yash Raj Films at Palm Beach Road , Darna Zaroori Hain by K Sera Sera Productions was shot at Kharghar, Johnny Gaddar by PJ Sughand Productions Ltd was shot at Kharghar. It is just not movies that are shot in Navi Mumbai, but also ad commercials like Godrej Jumpins that has been shot in places like Kharghar. So how much is the government making on this 'noveau film city'?



City and Industrial Development Corporation’s (CIDCO) permits these production houses to shot movies and ad films. “Once the permission is sought we let the industry people shoot at different locales,” says Mr. Buddhabhushan Giakwad, the PRO of CIDCO. What about the charges? He explained, “On Palm Beach road we charge Rs 50,000 per slot and for other places we have patterned the rate around Rs. 25,000.” However, the location is given on slot bases - 8 hours and 12 hours (full day). He also said that the stations in Navi Mumbai are very famous for its uniqueness and they attract the industry in big way.

Apparently there are quite a few production houses that have already sent in their requests. Which means soon the streets of Navi Mumbai will glitter with star dust!
