Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 9: In this series ‘Kissa Kursi Ka’, we take a look at the NMMC corporators’ work, what they are delivering and if there have been any slip-ups. Here both corporators and residents come face-to-face. The next in this series is Corporator Netra Shirke. She belongs to ward no.74, responsible for Nerul, Sector-13, 17 and partly sector 19. She is..
An ever-smiling active and gorgeous personality did B.Sc. and MMS with specialisation in Marketing from Mumbai University. She is the director of Ashish Group, a leading cable, internet, network and advertising company of Navi Mumbai and also editor of Drishti Channel. She has well handled the post of Chairman of Law Committee of NMMC last year.

What have I done for my wards?

"I have arranged to build four Roads at Nandanvan Society, Sector-17, and one wide road opp. Jimi Park-II. I have also built up an approach road to Jimi Park-II at my own personal expense, as my earlier commitment to residents of this area.

I have arranged to build storm water drains and paved footpath from Gajanan Society to Rohidas Society and also opposite Udak Society.

I have arranged to provide proper illuminations at Gurunanak Garden Sector-19.

My ward is the recipient of coveted awards under Sant Gadge Baba Swachhata Abhiyan (St. Gadge Baba Cleanliness Drive) winning First Prize in first round for Nerul and First Prize in second round for Navi Mumbai.

What are my plans?

I have planned for new roads (with proper drains and footpaths):
From Ayappa Temple to sector-19; from Elite Teachers’ Society to NCRD college/Om Gurukul Society; from sector 13 to SBI colony, near Atomic Society sector 17 and near Gurunanak Garden.

I have planned a gymnasium cum library facility at sector-17, and a garden with jogging track at sector-19

I am planning a scheme for making compost, by separation of dry and wet garbage with the help of Stree Mukti Sanghatna (a Ladies Welfare Organisation).

Public Opinion

Mrs. Kanta Ramnarayan the Chairman of Green Valley Society, Sector-19 said, " We know Netra Madam is doing a good job for our ward as such we have no major problem. We have to only say about the irregularity of Bell-Van (Ghanta-Gadi) for collection of garbage,"

Mr. Anthony, Chairman of Ram-Tanu Society, sector-17 said, "The street light lamps here are not clearly visible due to heavy density of trees, which require trimming."

Digamber Kale from Puneet Park sector-13, said, "We have heard of Shirke Madam in this area, she is very particular about our area. You can see the road properly done up immediately, after a pipeline was laid across it"

Babulal from Balaji Super Market, Sector-19, said, "I don't know the exact name of Corporator of this area, as I have come here only two months back. However one decent, well mannered Madam from 'Mahapalika' is seen regularly visiting our area."
