Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: July 20: In this series ‘Kissa Kursi Ka’, we take a look at the NMMC corporators’ work, what they are delivering and if there have been any slip-ups. Here both corporators and residents come face-to-face. The next in this series is Corporator Jayaji Krishna Nath. He belongs to ward no. 84, committed to work for CBD Sector-3A, 4, 5, 8B, Gurudwara, Kalptaru, Vikasini society, Central Library, YMCA, Community Centre and Rajiv Gandhi Ground.
Dr. Nath's Report Card

He is..
An ever-smiling 51 years old medical practitioner packed with confidence. He was Chairman of NMMC Health committee in 1998-99, Chairman of Nerul CBD Belapur A-ward committee in 2003-04, and Chairman of Standing Committee in 2005-06. A loyal supporter of NCP leader Ganesh Naik, He had won elections three times for NMMC Corporator in 1995, 2000 and last election in 2005. Last year he was honoured with the Award for Best Corporator.

What have I done for my wards?

“I have set up an open air stage in with rooms facilities to be used by residents for various functions like weddings etc.The central channel has been thoroughly cleaned and leveled, to avoid water stagnation. I have done various works related to , roads, footpaths, jogging track, news paper library etc. My ward has won the Sant Gadge Baba Award for best cleanliness.

As Standing Committee Chairman during 2005-06, I was actively involved with NMMC, in making important decisions on laying Kalamboli-Digha pipe line, concreting Thana-Belapur road, and a Super Specialty Hospital with First Referral Unit (FRU), with 150 beds on 1,20000 sq.ft. Area at secto-10 Vashi. I can say with proud that as Standing Committee Chairman, I have presented a clean and flawless administration."

What is pending?

“The bhoomi-pooja of a sports stadium at Rajiv Gandhi ground in Sector-3A is over which will be ready by January 2008.

What are my plans?

"I am planning for setting up a truck terminal near CBD for the benefit of truck operators.
I want to start an Annual CBD Cultural Festival in which talents from different states of people settled here shall participate.
I have plan to beautify the Mahakali Chowk with fountains and lights.
I have plan to set up a 50 bed hospital at CBD.
I am making a scheme under which buses at present directly plying between mumbai and Panvel shall pass through CBD depot.
I am planning for a Garden 'Smruti-Van' where people can plant trees on various events like birthday, wedding anniversary of their nearer and dearer ones."

Public Opinion

OP Shridharan, Chairman of Kalptaru Society Secto-8B said, "Dr. Nath is a sincere Corporator. You can see, these 24 Kadappa benches on the road-side have been built up by NMMC with his efforts. However some pavement tile work is left over around benches. There is accumulation of some rubbish material on the FOB, which is risky for its users. Some street lights are to be also attended"
Amarsingh from Krisho Enterprises located at Sector-5 C-21 said, "Dr. Nath has arranged to clean all drains in this area well before monsoon, taking a lesson from last year's deluge on 26/7."
Jitendra Singh Security Supervisor from Vikasini Society said, " There is accumulation of water on the rear side of the society.The Ghanta Gadi is not coming in time"
HL Patel from Om Sagar General Stores in Sector-4 market said, "During the deluge of 26/7 last year , we suffered a loss of more than two lakhs and sent letter to collector also for this, but nothing is done, nobody is following up from NMMC.

Labh Singh a transporter, doing regular Karseva at Gurudwara said, "we don't know where to park our business heavy vehicles. Earlier we were given a place near Konkan Bhavan to park our vehicles. We spent more than Rs. 5 lakhs to level it with extra earth. Later on, we were restricted to park there and our vehicles were towed away. Now we sometimes park on roadsides, and here also towing is done and we have to pay heavy fine." The Secretary of Gurudwara Committee Gurmail Singh said, "we have sent about 8 letters to CIDCO and NMMC, but no results, let us see, what Dr. Nath does for us"
