Vashi2panvel: Navi Mumbai: March 27: Vacation time is nearing soon and Navi Mumbaikars have already packed their bags and baggage to get the real summer tan! Many people would like to their ancestral homes and laze around with a tinge of hot family gossips with kith and kin. Students are desperately trying to spend some time in a serene milieu away from the hustle-bustle of a city life.


People are busy discovering the names and contact numbers of various travel agents or agencies that would just make their work easier. And, if the long queues at the ticket booking counters are any indication then surely the residents are up for a funky summer! “We try to give good facilities and attracting packages to our customers. We give them a long list of 3-star, 4-star and 5-star hotels to make a choice. We schedule our trip in such a way that people don’t get bored,” says, Mehzabeen Shetty, Travel Executive of fourway travels, Vashi. There are many travel agencies that are providing different traveling packages to attract people. They also give people appropriate guidance, so sometimes it also becomes convenient for the people to make a choice. Most of the time they prefer those agencies that provide them with good conveyance services, hotels, delicious lunch, dinner and breakfast. Many travel agencies charge people according to the kilometers or the number of days or on the number of people. Yet, in this era of competition there are some travel agencies who do not provide all these facilities to customer. “We charge our customers on the basis of kilometers. If AC car then we charge Rs. 7.50 per kilometer and if non-AC car then Rs. 6.50 per kilometer. We provide vehicle but the customer pays the parking rent. We don’t even provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to people. If a family consist of 4 members and they go for 4 to 5 days then it cost up to Rs. 9500,” says Jyoti Sonove, Travel agent, Kharghar.

Besides, some students are planning to join hobby classes or vacation courses to make utmost use of the holidays. Many students are also organizing to go out with their school friends, college groups or their family members. “I am planning to do a photography course in this vacation. Later on I might go out with my family. It’s fun to go out with your family members because during college we don’t get time to spend with our family,” says, Apoorva Parker, student, New Panvel.

It is very important for a newly- married couple to spend time with each other. So, even the romantic couples of New Bombay are taking advantage of the summers. “I am planning to go out with my husband Ooty for a week Ooty is a very romantic place so I want to be there with my husband,” Says, Simta Jhadav, Software Engineer, Airoli.

But there are many who are not planning any summer trip this season. “I am going to spend my vacations here itself.” says, Kanak Tiwari, Visiting faculty of ICL College, Kopakhiarane.
