"12-year-old boy forced to drink oil paint by villagers on Holi Day", say Simplex Colony residents, Ghansoli
Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: March 16:Suresh Tukaram Bhosle, living in the ground floor flat of Maoli Krupa Housing society, a building in Simplex Colony, is a disturbed man. About twenty angry Ghansoli villagers had stormed into the compound of the colony this morning and had pelted stones on the windows of the flats. Nearly all the windows of Bhosle's flat have been smashed, with glass shards still strewn around.
Recalls Bhosle, "It was horrifying. I have children and they could have been so easily hurt. The villagers have been troubling us for a long time. Actually there is no wall that is separating the coloiny from the village. The villagers use the colony compound freely as an access road. Often late at night they come to the colony with booze and food and sit in some corner and make merry. They have even, brought women to the colony. We have in the past tried to complain to the police, but are actually quite terrified of them. We have a police outpost here in the colony, made by CIDCO but they don' sit here. Yesterday they forcibly made a 12-year-old boy from the colony drink oil paint. Naturally, his parents were angry and concerned. That started it." When Vashi2Panvel.com tried to trace the boy and his family, we were told that they had fled the place in fear of further harrassment. Uma Waghmare and Dinesh Yede
