Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: February 21: Bikaner House, which stands in one corner of the busy Vashi city, is a place that doesn’t go missed. The splendid exteriors of this ethnic building draws the attention of all the passers by and one cannot help but give in to the temptation of visiting the shop. As you enter, the whole feel of the place enchants your senses with the authentic traditional look it abounds. Bikaner House offers a wide variety of antique and meenakari showpieces, Rajasthani jewellery, traditional sarees, bed sheets, kurtis and there’s no dearth to the offerings!

The store seems to be a replica of a Jaisalmeri palace that emits immense positive energy. “The building has been made by jharokhas which were brought in specially from Jaisalmer and one reason why we have maintained a particular theme in the inside as well as the outside is because we wanted to give our customers a Rajasthani feel,” says Veena Bahety the owner of Bikaner House.

Bikaner House first started in Sector 2, Vashi seven years ago and from the time it started till today it has gone through a lot of changes. “When we started it was on a very small scale but now, as you can see, we have expanded considerably.”

Bikaner House is a hit not only among the residents of New Bombay but from outside. They provide their regular customers with membership cards besides special discount coupons on birthdays, anniversaries or other occasions. “Some of our customers who stay in the town want us to open an outlet there,” boasts Bahety.

Well It’s not only the Indians (New Mumbaiites particularly) who go head over heels these classic pieces but even the sizeable NRI (Non-Resident Indians) population who either reside here or come in to shop. “We have a lot of NRI rush between December and February. Besides we get many offers for corporate gifts,” she says further adding, “We hold our customers at a very high stature and make it a point to maintain a personal relationship with them. Besides we also provide our customers with reasonable prices as we buy the products directly from the manufacturers.”
