Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: February 15: If you've visited the far end of sector 21, Nerul, there is no chance your taste buds could have escaped the mouth watering aroma of fresh baked cakes and breads that fill the air. The very famous, first-of-its-kind (in Nerul) ‘Bangalore Aiyangar Bakery’, established about two years back is today one of the most loved snack hub of the gourmet. “People from as far as Chembur and Vashi come to our bakery” says the owner of the shop, who refrains from revealing his name confirming to the code of conduct of Aiyangar bakeries that prohibits the proprietor to publicize his name.

The variety of snacks up for grab are scrumptious – right from pastries, doughnuts, cream rolls, fruit buns, toast, khari, and a range of biscuits to fresh baked breads, milk breads, cakes (plain, plum and fruit) etc… what more can one ask for? Though each of these has its own specialty, the regulars strongly recommend the lip smacking Patties with a filling of alu and birthday cakes that are made to order. “I just love the patties out here, it’s a ‘must-try-item’ which is easy on pocket at Rs 6 per piece”, exclaims TYBCom student Deepinder Singh who is a regular.

The ‘Dilpasand’ is an innovative offering about the size of a roti. A pizza like outer crest of khari with a filling of grated coconut, tooti frooti and nuts gives enough reasons for the ones with a sweet tooth to be delighted. Dilpasand has lived up to its name winning the hearts of many foodies. “Taste and quality are the sole reasons why this place is a hit” puts in Reliance Telecom employee and Seawoods Darave resident, Nazia Khan. “The place sure offers a refreshing change to the monotonous vada pavs, samosas and bhel puris,” she adds.

Bakery
The bakery caters to all kinds of taste buds – right from youngsters, home makers, children and senior citizens. Apart from the delicacies it offers, the customer service is excellent too. The sales force is very customer friendly, something that goes a long way in pleasing the clientele. “The food business thrives on two very important aspects: the service and the food itself. On both these counts Aiyengar bakery scores a perfect ten,” says Jacob D’Costa, Nerul resident.

The business has been great right from the word go and continues to be on an upward trend. The commander in chief at the kitchen, Keshav, feels that the fresh manufacturing and word of mouth publicity are the driving forces that have made their venture a success. A perfect place for a perfect snack!
