Gurpreet Singh: ‘Rajma-Chawal is my staple diet’
Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: February 11:His naivety, simplicity and the ‘bindaas’ attitude swept off many hearts ever since he replaced heart-throb Rajeev ‘Sujal’ Khandewal in Kahin To Hoga as Tushar. This Punjab da Puttar who can’t help but deliver dialogues in authentic Punjabi accent had a wild time adjusting with the new sets and co-stars who were all accustomed to the ‘old Sujal’. But he seems patient and ready to wait for a whooping fan following. We spoke to the new entrant of the hit soap KTH, Gurpreet Singh, to know about his food habits!
Favourite food: Rajma-Chawal. It’s more like my staple diet. Favourite desserts: Gajar ka halwa, Ice-cream, gulab-jamun, kheer…there goes a long list. I’m, very fond sweets and I can have any sweet that’s easily available! Favourite cuisine: No reservations! I love all types-Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Continental…It must just taste good to me. Chatpata chatka: I like chats but very occasionally. I don’t like them so much. Something you love yet avoid for fitness concerns: Nothing. I eat whatever I like. Poison for you: Pakodas and other fried foodstuffs. Earlier I never used to even touch them, not because of fitness concerns but for health reasons. I used to get a bad stomach-ache but now I can have them occasionally without putting myself in any problem. Secret of a good health: I always healthy and nutritious food. I eat only at fixed times and avoid eating at odd hours. I prefer roti over rice as the latter has good amount of fats and makes me feel lethargic. I’m a true Punjabi puttar and love all Punjabi delicacies be it dal makhni, rajma, chicken tikka and so on. Fitness freak: No, I’m not a fitness freak. I don’t even follow a fixed diet plan to stay fit and flex muscles. Where do you get time after such chaotic shooting schedules? I do work outs to get rid of the flab I gain by eating the rich diet. Message for the readers: Eat everything you want to. Don’t avoid your favourite delicacy just because you want to stay fit. The mantra is eating your like and then working out or working hard to shed the extra kilos! Swati Pandey
