Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: February 9: If everything falls in place, the city of 21st century will be all set to witness a mega ‘Navi Mumbai Shopping Festival’ pretty much in the lines of the famous Dubai Shopping festival from 16th March to 31st March.

Dreamz Media Network (DMN), a Vashi-based event management company is taking charge of organising this mega event in association with the NMMC and Times Foundation. A variety of retailers from across the city are expected to participate in the first of its kind shopping extravaganza in the city. Arvind Razak, proprietor, DMN says, “The sole objective of the event is to make Navi Mumbai celebrate Gudi Padwa primarily a shopping season in a different way. The idea is to get more and more retailers to participate in the fest and make consumers buy from these participating retailers. Participating retailers would benefit through event publicity and media exposure. Shops would be lit up to make people aware that the retailer is a participant, thus leading to increased footfalls and sales.”

Consumers, on the other hand, will be entitled to special discounts apart from daily lucky draw prizes like PC, flat TV, DVD Player etc. and bumper prizes like 1 BHK flat, Santro car, motorbikes and ACs with winners being announced in the newspapers the following day. A win-win situation for both!

“We plan to light up various nodes of the city. Cartoon characters will move about the city, people in traditional Maharashtrian costume will be seen promoting the festival, small screen celebrities will also be invited to give away the prizes. Thus, we will create a festive atmosphere in the city,” reveals Razaq.

So, make sure this March your pockets are cash-ready or get those credit cards in your wallet. Just go ahead and shop, shop and shop till you drop!
