'Eye' prefer this one!

Maninee
Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: February 6: Sunglasses are always ‘in’ and especially in Mumbai where we see the sun round the year. Sunglasses serve not merely as a style statement but more as a need to protect eyes from the killing heat. But sunglasses can be bought for Rs 50, they can be as expensive as Rs 5000. What are our TV stars wearing? And how much are they willing to spend for their favourite?
Maninee Dey:
Maninee Dey who was showered with praise for her show in Nach Baliye, by the trio-Saroj Khan, Malaika Arora-Khan and Farhan Akhtar before the jodi got eliminated, has a fascination for sun glasses and owns a pretty good collection of them from DG, Police, CK, Dolce and Gucci. “I like the classic eye-pieces these brands offer. Also the traditional look of the 60s-the big glasses, and also the aviator-styled ones goes well with me,” she says.

And what colour lens does she prefer? “Black”, she beams.

Archana Puransingh Sethi:

The versatile actress prefers expensive brands from Bulgari, Versace and Police. Though brand loyalty doesn’t really exist in her case, she is taken head over heels by the designs and patterns that a brand offers. She prefers light-weight, semi-transparent glasses “and I like them in ‘motor-bike’ shape. I do not know what exactly they are called but this is the best I can describe it as!” she exclaims.

Poonam Narula

One of the most prolific and versatile actors of the tellyworld today, Poonam doesn’t really have a fetish for sunglasses though she owns one or two all the while. I’m not really fond of glares. I don’t know, but at times these irritate me,” she giggles. Currently, she is using Rayban though she puts them up only if it’s really sunny. Like Maninee Dey, Poonam also sticks to dark colours “preferably black.”

Chaitanya Chowdhary

Still unable to decide which stride his career should take, Chaitanya is consistently juggling between the saas-bahu and ‘non saas bahu’ shows. A Rayban user, Chaitanya’s heart skips a beat over a good range “that has the right look and suits the face too.” As Chaitanya is known to have an obsession for his “sexy eyes” he prefers lighter shades glasses through which his eyes can be seen! That surely is a ‘cool’ obsession…

Hiten Tejwani

This subtle actor who is loved by one and all as Karan of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi is known for his simplicity which is also reflected through the sun glasses he wears. “I’m not much into these glares but I prefer simplicity. ‘Armani’ is what I’m using right now. And I prefer dark glasses,” he reveals.

Shwetra Kawatra

This new entrant in Sony’s CID bureau who became known as ‘Pallavi’ of Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii unleashes her own style statement be it her wardrobe, hairstyle or glasses! She always prefers to flow with the time and hence the love for big glasses that are in now. Shweta doesn’t go by the brand but follows other specifications like look and cost while making a purchase. “I can spare somewhere between 4000 to 5000 bucks maximum for my glasses,” says Shweta who presently wears glares from Ornet. Shweta also seems to go the Chaitanya way as far as shades are concerned. “I’m not fond of black coloured glares though even they serve good at times but these days I prefer semi-transparent shades.”
