Its all sizzle and chat for Supriya



Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: December 12: Supriya Pilgaonkar is a food aficionado but she doesn’t allow that to take a toll on her health. She prefers to have nutritious food but “once in a while having sizzlers or munching in a favourite restaurant is not to be regretted,” she grins.

Being a “conscious eater”, Supriya sticks to countless dos and don’ts much to the dislike of Shriya, her only daughter. “I’ve always been a conscious eater. I’ve cultivated a healthy eating habit not just for myself but for my family as well. Eating nutritious foods and avoiding the junkies definitely helps a lot,” she informs.
Unlike her family members, Supriya always prefers to stay miles away from animal flesh. “I am a pure vegetarian and I believe that’s one of the reasons for me staying fit and fine. I’m saved of the extra fats and cholesterol that fleshy material provides,” she says as she cuddles her pet dog Hobo.

And just like a true Mumbai-spirited citizen she loves to gobble up the famous Chat foods available anywhere on Mumbai streets. “As far as street food goes I prefer to have Bhel puri and Pani Puri. After all I belong to this city so my love for the chats is inevitable!” she beams.
Ask her about her favourite cuisine and she answers with marked predictability, “I like ghar ka khana,” she says and elaborates further, “But the food should be authentic traditional one, not the routine dal chawal sabzi thing. I love to have the customary Indian foods, be it of whichever state.” So, is that the easy way to win her heart? “Oh yes and why not? I would enjoy if you invite me over a traditional lunch at your place!” she rags.

So can we say that Supriya is a clever eater? Well, that’s because she not just eats her much loved delicacies but chomps them up consciously keeping the fitness factor in mind. “That’s what our industry demands,” she grins.

Supriya’s favourite hang out is Lucos where she chomps the sizzlers for which the place is renowned for. “For me sizzlers form the best way of food. And what could be a better place than Lucos? Sometimes, I’ve been there alone or at times Sachinji gives me company. I’ve also been there with Shriya or my friends. I love being there not just for the food they offer but it’s also the feel about the place that makes me fond of it,” she says.
