What’s in a name?
Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: December 10: As SIES College gears up for its festive mood, ‘SIESONS-05’, the students initiate the first move ‘SPRINT-05’, a sports event. And if you thought that this was some track event like relay races, marathon or running race then Chintamani is afraid, you are wrong. Sprint, though a sports event has nothing to do with athletics. The events are badminton, table tennis, chess, carom and box cricket. And ask the organisers for the misnomer name and they just shrug off the shoulders hinting that they’re only following the tradition! Well, that’s what their seniors left for them…Anyways, let’s do a Shakespeare, ‘What’s in a name?’
Fr.Agnel’s princy does a bhigi billi Recently the Mumbai University issued a new ATKT rule for the undergraduate students pursuing Arts, Science and Commerce to which principals of various colleges staged opposition. We called a few Engineering College principals to give us their take as academicians on the issue. The Terna College princy did his job right by saying, “This rule will make the students laid-back and they’ll start taking exams for granted.” But when Chintamani spoke to Fr.Agnel’s princy, he was caught unawares! “I did not read today’s newspapers and I’m not aware of any such rules. Is it for engineering students?” he said and when asked his name he just retorted back, “Now, why do you want to give my name? I’m not going to say that. You do your own research and find out what my name is.” Well, Mr. Rollin Fernandes, Chintamani always does his homework right!!
