China in India: DY Patil food fest
Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: December 5: ‘All roads lead to Rome’ is a well known proverb but how about ‘all roads lead to DY Patil College’? Last week the Hotel Management and Catering Technology students of the college had organised a Chinese food festival as part of their third year project and as the buzz goes around the college it was a grand success.
People from the hotel industry and fraternity had come to judge the event, though it was nothing like a competition! “We just invited them to boost the morale of our kids,” is what the lecturer Santosh Thapliyal had to say. Coupons for around 200 to 250 bucks were issued for all those who desired to savour the favourite dishes of Gen X! Though it sounds expensive, the food was worth the cost…and not just that, the students had re-created China on Indian soil, what with the costumes and décor resembling a Chinese set up? The department is also gearing up for other varied activities in the New Year…Get going guys! Engineering Exam fever While their non-technical counterparts are having a ball, the technically-inclined engineering guys are now burning the midnight oil to clear the ongoing University exams with flying colours. So, while RAIT students are entering their college heads buried in their books, the neighbouring SIES College is making preparations for their annual fest SIESONS-05. Other engineering colleges also have an abominable lull enveloping them and the students are eagerly waiting for their last exams. Chintamani wishes you guys all the good luck!
