The bio-informatics branch in the college requires laptops for their studies. And in sync with the college’s plan to go wireless before 2007, they gave a green signal to the students to get quotations from renowned brands like Dell and IBM for a 100laptops! And what a deal they got-a discount of 40% on each laptop! So that means a laptop of Rs 55,000 for just around Rs. 22,000. Now comes the icing on the cake, the college permitted the students to order one for themselves too, if they wanted. Isn’t that a super deal?

No more identity crisis

The SIES College of arts science and commerce is seeing a new wave of change with the coming of the new principal. Discipline and decorum is high on the list of things to be observed. But the one new rule that the students seem to be wary of is regarding their identity cards. All students and teaching and non teaching staff are supposed to wear their I-cards around their necks. The enforcement has been so strict, that the principal stands near the college gate every morning and personally checks if all students are wearing their cards or not. If not, the student is not allowed to enter the college. Now that’s called wearing your identity!
