Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: November 30: The brick kilns in Kharghar have again started their operation in spite of assurances by the CIDCO/ police authorities last year. The smoke emitted is a great health hazard in a residential area. At night when the temperature drops, the smoke can be seen gathered at a very low height.

Complaints against these kiln mafias are going on for the last several years and each year it is told that next year there will not be any more kiln operations. It looks like this is another case of non-governance on the part of CIDCO and Maharashtra government. Do they require PIL and High Court orders to provide essential civic amenities and clean environment? I think we should now ask the High Court to run this state! I would request all the NGOs and esteemed environmentalist to come and see how we are suffering.
