Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: October 26: Five days after a Navi Mumbai police constable was arrested on rape charges. The ‘victim’, a 19 year old girl has retracted her statement. A former bar dancer, she had earlier claimed that that constable Hamid Kazi (32) raped her twice threatening to throw her out of Mumbai if she did not cooperate.

She claimed that her husband and a television reporter had forced her to file a false complaint against constable Kazi.She has accused Sahara Samay, the channel that first reported the alleged rape, of been involved in the case.

However officials from the channel has refuted the allegations, it appears that the couple feared the Navi Mumbai police’s drive to flush out illegal immigrants and to avoid and distract the police Aminul Gazi, the husband pressurized his wife to falsely implicate the policeman.
