Bangladeshi immigrants detained



Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: October 25: In an ‘‘Operation Flushout’’, the Navi Mumbai police took into custody 91 illegal Bangladeshi migrants. The illegal migrants were picked up from six police stations including Vashi, Rabale, Turbhe, Nerul and CBD Belapur.

Out of the 91 persons arrested, 33 are men. The rest are women who work as bar waitresses, labourers and domestic help. Reports stated that the number of illegal migrants coming into the city has increased from 147 in 2004 to 296 in 2005.
