Justice Dhananjay out of SEZ hearing
Vashi2Panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: October 3: Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud decided to keep away from hearing petition challenging the development of Navi Mumbai Special Economic Zone (SEZ). He took the decision when it was brought to his notice that his father and former chief justice Y V Chandrachud had given his opinion on this matter to the state-run City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco).
Chadrachud along with R Rebello and Dhananjay Chandrachud were to take up the writ petition filed by Anik Development Corporation, Gammon India, Mumbai SEZ Company and Nayan Shah. The new bench is likely to be reconstituted in the next 2-3 days. Cidco had awarded tender at Rs 67 lakh per hectare to the Sea King Infrastructure in November 2003, for the development of SEZ at Navi Mumbai. It covers 2,000 hectares of land in Dronagiri, Ulve and Kalamboli areas. V2P Correspondent
