Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: Sept 15 : A 19 year old boy was reportedly drowned in a pond at KoparKhairane during the seventh day immersion. After a franctic two hour search, his body was finally recovered at 1.25 am.

Vikas Dayaram Gupta had gone to the pond for the immersion of his family’s Ganapati idol at around 11:30 pm. Three boys along with him jumped into the pond and when it was time for aarti, the boys came back and told that Vikas had drowned. The family members panicked and appealed for help. The Vashi fire brigade and members of the Topsline Emergency Response Service conducted the rescue operations. At around 1:25 am, the rescue teams felt a tug while fishing for the body. The Vashi Municipal Hospital has done the post mortem of the body.
