Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: February 24: At Assam Bhavan, the Ali-Aye Leegang festival was celebrated by the Assamese people of Navi Mumbai. Here professional dancers who had come from Assam performed tribal dances. This festival is a sign of the spring season and as held to welcome it, said the organizers here.

They informed that in Assam on this day the farmers start their farming of the new season, it is a very important day for all. More than 500 people attended the function here organised by the Assam Bhavan along with the Mishing community, who are the largest tribal community in Assam.
