Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: February 22: Western Region Council of The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) conducts the oral classes for the Foundation and Intermediate Course for the Students of Mumbai & Navi Mumbai since 1987. Recently the management committee of the association inaugurated the newly formed Chapter of "Navi Mumbai Chapter of Cost Accountants", here at Vashi.
On this occasion Vashi2Panvel.Com, tired to find what exactly are the career opportunities for a Cost Accountant and who can become one. Dinesh Jain, Chairman of the Navi Mumbai branch told Vashi2Panvel.Com that more than 20,000 students have passed out from this branch till now. He informed that any student after passing their Higher Secondary Examinations could pursue this Course. In the Navi Mumbai branch only Foundation and Intermediate courses are held to give the final exam one ahs to go to the main branch, i.e Fort Mumbai office. Eligibility for Admission to Foundation Course: (a) 17 years of age; and (b) Passed Senior Secondary Examination under 10+2 scheme of a recognized Board Intermediate Examination Eligibility Admission to Intermediate Examination: 1. No candidate shall be admitted to the Intermediate Examination unless he/she has got a valid registration number {not time-barred}. 2. He/she has obtained Coaching Completion Certificate. 3. He/she has not been debarred from appearing in ICWAI Examination. 4. He/she has paid the fees according to Current Rate within the stipulated date: i.e. 15th April and 25th October for June and December examinations, respectively. 5. He/she has submitted the application in prescribed form, available from the Head Quarters, Regional Councils and Chapters on payment of Rs.20 only by Demand Draft or against cash payment at the counters of the respective offices. {Rs.25/- if obtained by Post} 6. Option to use Hindi in Foundation, Intermediate and Final Examinations of the Institute: 7. Candidates of Foundation, Intermediate and Final Examinations are allowed to exercise option for answering questions in Hindi. A candidate seeking registration as a student has to know that – 1. Exams are held two times in a year i.e. in June and in December. 2. For June Term Examination apply before 15th December of previous year and for December Term Examination apply before 15th June. Cost Accountants can practice in the following areas: 1.In mandatory Cost Audit under Section 233 (B) of the Companies Act, 1956. 2.Certification under Export & Import Policy. 3.Excise Audit under Section 14A of the Central Excise Act and Special Audit of Certification Of manufacturing account as per Customs Act.
