Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: February 22: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) launched a signature campaign on February 20th and 21 st against the load shedding in Navi Mumbai. Jitendra Kambali, President of Navi Mumbai branch of MNS said "We are taking signs of people on the letter that we have written to MSEB department."

They had placed three demands here, 1) to reduce the increased billing scheme, 2) to stop the load shedding and provide proper lights to all and 3) to give proper bills to all as per the old system and remove the new system.

He added that the increased timings of load shedding are really troubling people. The lights are not there for 4-5 hours in the Urban areas and upto to 12 hours load shedding is faced by the near by Villages, he complained. The signature campaign was done at Nerul Station complex, so more than 1000 people have signed it, informed the volunteers.

When Vashi2Panvel talked with a few who signed the paper, they said that by hook or by crook they want the load shedding to be reduced. Mrs. Patil, a daily commuter from Nerul to CST said "The heat is increasing now and when we reach home if the fan is not working, it disturbs the whole housework and mood."

Almost all had the same say, who signed the campaign. Earlier to this BJP also has sat for a morcha at Vashi for the same reason. A few volunteers of Congress and NCP have also raised a voice against it, though they are the ruling party. Only time will tell wether all this will help to solve the problem of load shedding or not.
