Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: February 21: Load shedding has become a major problem all over Navi Mumbai. With the 10th and 12th board exams approaching the students are unable to concentrate on their studies with the changing and increased timings in load shedding.

Sneha Shinde, a 10th std student of Mahatma Gandhi School, said that "I had a habit of studying in the morning but then lights used to go at 7am in our area at Panvel, so I started studying in the afternoon. Now the load shedding timings has again changed to afternoon. It is very irritating. So, now I'm shifting to Walada to my uncle's home, till my exams, which begin on March 8 th."

Sneha was seconded by Nachiket who said that, "My friend and I have decided that when lights go off at my home we will study at his place and vice versa. But this wastes our traveling time as I stay in New Panvel and he is at Khanda colony."

Kavita who resides in CBD is preparing for MBA, says, "We have assignments to submit on time and due to this load shedding, it becomes difficult to do so."

Load shedding has not only affected students but also a lot of businesses, like St.Angelus Computer Education Institut'es Nerul centre. Their batches cannot run during the load shedding timings. Mahesh Polpale, manage of the Nerul branch while taking to Vashi2panvel.Com said that "We give admissions to the children and then suddenly the load shedding timings change, we cannot change our class timings every time." He added that it was very inconvenient to do so as generally children take admission to a particular batch as its timings suits them.

Vijay Tailors in Vashi said "We have to stop our work for four hours daily which affects our clientele. Lavanya who runs a beauty parlour from CBD also had the same say--that the business has reduced as housewives prefer to come to a beauty parlour in the afternoons but then that is the time of load shedding in her area.

Mr Khandekar of the Nerul office of MSEB said, "People would have to conserve electricity more. This new timings is till 28 th February, and then again mostly it will change."
