“I think he is a great person and they have made the right choice by awarding him the Karmveer Bhaverao Patil for Best Principal amongst 50 Modern Colleges all over Maharashtra", says a proud student.

She is talking about their principal Mr. B.A. Patil, the winner of Bhavrao Patil Award for Best Principal amongst the 40 Modern colleges of Maharashtra. A man who believes that each one should be fortunate enough to gain education whether he is an under privileged or from a wealthy family.
Mr. B.A.Patil has an MSc in Physics and has worked as a teacher for 32 years and more than 10 years as the Principal. During his tenure as a teacher and a principal he has done a lot of things for the schools and colleges he has served.

Mr.B.A.Patil received the Karmveer Bhaverao Patil award this year from the Rayat Shikshan Savsta committee. The committee selects the best principal from their 40 colleges and gives the ward on the bas of who has performed the best. They look at the achievements, progress made and all the other aspects to fit into the criteria of receiving this award. Modern College is ranked the 10th best college in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai and for this success the principal has a vital role to play.

He has also received four other awards apart from the recent one. The first being the Best Institution Award bestowed on “Modern College Vashi” by Nagarik Sena Samiti during his term. Secondly the Best Principal award given by “Ekta Welfare Association”, again the best Principal Award by “ Nagarik Sena Samiti” and Navi Mumbai Bhushan Award by N.M.M.C.

It’s quite obvious that Mr Patil puts in all his hard work for the upliftment of the college and for giving quality education to all categories of children. He has come a long way serving different schools and colleges of their organisation. One of his noted achievements is that he built a college in Ratnagiri “The Abasaheb Marate College” for his organisation. For three long years he put his effort to bring about awareness in the village and tell people about the importance of education. “I went door to door to inform people and get together people to help me in building the college. With the help of many and the then Chef Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh who contributed Rs.10 lakhs to our organisation. There we also planted 250 Alphanso mango trees which is a great income for the college”, says Mr.B.A.Patil.

His list of acheievements is endless as he has always strived to do something different and unique. He has made lot of changes in the infrastructure of the college (Modern College). They have a AC multi purpose Gym, Health centre, and also an active placement cell, which helps the students get jobs. They even have the rain water harvesting in the college ground which provides water for various purposes, the vermin culture project and their latest project they are looking forward to is the light generation using solar Energy.

Apart from all this he has also started many new courses in the college which will be beneficial for the students.

Their latest project in hand is a research centre in Kharghar known as “Karmayug Research Centre” which in the future may have a tie up with international universities.
