Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: October 9: Beggar menace is something that our city especially Vashi is struggling with. Beggars particularly beggars kids can be spotted right from traffic signals to railway station to bus stops of our city. The problem creeps in when they surround people and compel them to shell out money, which is the present scenario of the city.

“Waiting for the bus at Vashi bus terminus is really turning distressful for me because of the beggars kids, who are always there for the alms. The worst part is these children will not leave you till the time to give them money,” tells Vashi resident Sudha Viswanathan. The beggars usually target places like Railway station, Bus terminus, traffic signals, shopping malls and other public places.

Many people find it quite difficult to deal with them. Most of the beggars touch the feet and hands of people in order to get some money. Some even go to the extent of shedding tears. “Beggars are gradually turning into a menace and literally they are harassing the people. I feel that authorities should do something to reslove this problem,” says Kamothe resident Ravikant Shinde.

While talking to Vashi2Panvel.Com Turbhe Assistant Police Inspector Jagdale said that as and when we see beggar while patrolling we tell them to leave the public place however, if we receive any complaint against them we take suitable actions.”
