Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: September 26: ‘Where there is will there is a way’- this old adage perfectly suits the 18 year-old professional dancer and ICL student Abhishek Dutta, who has not left any stone unturned to pursue his dream. Abhishek has displayed his dance talent in many prestigious events like Shamak’s Summer Funk, Filmfare 2006, Commonwealth games, etc. Vashi2panvel.Com finds out more about this ardent dance lover.

Dancing is something that Abhishek is passionate about right from his childhood but his art got the professional angle when he joined Shamak Davar’s troupe last year. Although he started giving dance performance from a very early age, the first professional stage performance took up with Shamak’s Summer Funk 2005. This event earned him quite a good deal of accolades and he was among the eight people who got awarded from Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan for their excellent stage performance.

In February 2006 Bollywood mega event ‘Filmfare awards’ gave another opportunity to Abhishek to prove his worth. This enthusiastic dancer performed with celebrities like Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwaraya Rai, Emran Hashmi, etc and that too without a sign of fretting. Soon after this, his dance potential caught the limelight of commonwealth games, where he performed in front of 90,000 audiences at Melbourne, Australia. “I thoroughly enjoy dancing so there is no question of getting nervous, tells Abhishek. He adds further, “Before we perform for any event we generally do rigorous rehearsals that eliminates the stage fear.” The solo performance of Abishekh at Shamak’s Summer Funk this year was also highly appreciated by the audience.

For Abhishek music is the food for life and cannot stand artificial people. International singer Beyonce is one whom he idolizes with and regards his own passion as the driving force in his life. “For me the key to success lies in striking a balance between my studies and dance rehearsals and of course my parents support without which what all little I have achieved, would not have been possible,” says Abhishek.

Very few people know that Abhishek is also involved in writing music preview for the local tabloid. For this easy-going yet strong willed artist sky is the limit. He plans to take up Rj-ing and VJ-ing in future along with dance choreography. ‘I want to be a multi-asker, ’feels Abhishek. Like a true artist Abhishek also believes in ‘live and let live’. For many people the success of Abhishek might appear tiny but for him that is the baby step towards a bigger goal.
