Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: September 5: Apropos your story, ‘Thane-Vashi commuters' grievances to be addressed on Sept 4’. I stay in Thane and work as an Associate Professor in Surgery in Terna Medical College, Nerul. I have traveled by Thane-Vashi train via Sanpada, where I took another train to go to Nerul. I have been doing this right from the first week of inauguration of the Thane- Vashi train.

In the initial stages it was quite a pleasure to travel by first class. Though there was only one rake, which used to go to and fro and the frequency was less. We couldn't ask the railway to increase the frequency of trains because the railway authorities wanted more passengers to use the train. Slowly the rush started increasing. We were expecting one more rake leading to double the frequency at least during the rush period from 1st of July. But the authorities have neglected the issue. Now the train is so much crowded that it is impossible to even enter the first class compartment esp. in 8.20AM and 9.40AM trains.

I have lost all hopes and I have reverted back to travel via Kurla where you can comfortably get in if not get sit. This andolan may help the railway authorities to see the light and use their common sense to do the needful.
