Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 28: Cooking pasta is an art that even a novice can accomplish. Pasta is a good for health because it combines well with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods. Besides being easy on pocket pasta is yummy in all combinations. With just a little experimentation with a variety of pastas, you can whip up dishes that will impress even the most seasoned chefs!
The nutritionists in the city believe that anything if taken in a right quantity is not harmful for health. “Pasta is not really recommended for a daily diet but once in a while it’s no harm in trying the new combinations with it,” says Dr.Manju Agarwal, a practitioner in Vashi. “The nutrition value in pasta depends on what are you adding as the supplement and the way you prepare it. The dish is not unhealthy but the preparation matters a lot,” she adds. It is recommended that that two servings of the dish would not harm an individual. A plain pasta dish without cheese and lot of vegetables cooked in olive oil is suggested by nutritionists for a healthy living. Ingredients: 10 ml olive oil Capsicum Carrot Cabbage Beans Pasta Method: Boil the pasta. Cook the vegetables and then toss them in olive oil. Add some tomato sauce in the vegetables. Mix it up with the pasta and serve hot. Ingredients: 100gms carrots 100gms beans 100gms capsicum 100gms cabbage A small onion, 4 medium sized tomatoes, Tomato puree Garlic paste. Recipe: For white sauce: Melt 10gms of butter in a saucepan. Add 100gms of butter. Cook for 2 minutes. The colour must not change. Now, slowly add 100 ml milk to it and mix well. Remove from fire in 5 minutes. The proportion of all these ingredients must be accurate only then can the white sauce will be perfect. How to make Boil 250gms of macaroni till done. Add oil so that they don’t stick to each other. Now cut all the vegetables in small cubes. Boil carrots and keep aside. Heat a pan, add little butter to it. When the butter melts, add garlic, when done add onion and cook till transparent. Now add cabbage to it cook for 2 mins. Now, add carrots and beans. When cooked add capsicum. Then add tomatoes and cook till it leaves water. Keep the flame high after tomatoes leave water. Add 2 tbsp full of tomato purees. Cook till water evaporates. Take a microwave containers and place macaroni to it. When the vegetables are done, add them to macaroni and then make a layer of the white sauce. Spread cheese on top and cook in microwave for 2 mins. People who do not have a microwave can have like this only. It’s tasty both the ways. If you are not fond of white sauce, you can skip that too.
