Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 23: In this series of Kissa Kursi Ka, we meet up with Corporator Deena Nath Patil, Ward-87, CBD Belapur. Patil controls ward no.87, which covers Aaykar Colony, Ekta Vihar, Nilgiri Garden, Parsik Hills, sector-20(partly), Belapur Village including nearby slum area. We discuss what he has delivered to the public and if there has been any slip-ups.

Deena Nath Patil's Report Card

He is…
50 years old, Patil, a resident of Belapur, has been involved in various social works. A good listener, Patil gives a patient listening to his subjects’ grievances in his CBD Belapur office.

What have I done for my wards?
"In Belapur village, I have arranged for storm water-drains; laid 250mm water pipe to provide drinking water round the clock. Besides, I’ve also done asphalting of roads and built five toilets.

In Aaykar Colony I have ensured asphalting of roads, covering of all manholes and installing street lights."

What is pending?
"Concreting of main road opposite Ekta Vihar, installing sewage pipe line and RCC wall for pond of Belapur village are pending but I’ll complete it soon."

What are my plans?
"I have planned a Subway near Vidya Mandir for crossing railway line.
I am planning to set up a picnic spot near Aaykar colony.
The 40-year-old Zilla Parishad Hospital (Nagrik Arogya Kendra) in Belapur village is in a very bad condition. I will recommend NMMC to take it over.
I am planning for rehabilitation of slum dwellers of my ward, for which CIDCO has already given land near Belapur Talab (pond).

Talathi office at Belapur earlier maintained by Zilla Parishad is closed down due to poor condition of building. People have to go to distant places for petty work. I plan to take over of this office. I will try to improve NMMT bus frequency at Belapur village & Aaykar Colony.

Public Opinion
Dr. SK Sharma from Ekta Vihar Colony says, "Half of our main road is under concretization while other half is full of potholes. It is a big problem for motorists as well as pedestrians."

Mukadam from Belapur village says, "I’m quite happy with Deenanath Patil’s work. He has been giving attention to problems of our village like roads, water drainage etc."

Bhardwaj from Nilgiri Gardens opines, "We have heard that Deena Nath Patil is doing some good work for the villagers but us? The bus frequency in this area is very poor. It needs attention."

Vishal Sharma from Crescent Corner, Sector-20 voices his opinion, "The road in this area must be repaired soon."

Mhatre from Aaykar Colony says, "Last year we faced drinking water problem, during heavy monsoon. This year there is no water problem but some street lights in our colony are not operational."
