Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 19: ‘Who stole the cookies from the cookies’ shop? ’ Remember playing this game as a kid? Cookies are a hot favourite of everyone of any age. And, if you get home made cookies, then nothing like it! Cookies are a perfect accompaniment for any occasion! And, the best part is that you need not even wait for an occasion to have them. If nothing, you can simply munch them over your evening tea. Here’s a 30-minute recipe to make cookies at home…
Ingredients: Refined flour: 250gms Dalda: 250gms Sugar powder: 200gms (or to taste) Procedure: Sieve the flour and keep it aside. Mix dalda and sugar till the sugar melts in the dalda. Now gradually add sieved flour in the mixture. Make dough out of it and divide into equal roundels. You can make around 15 to 20 cookies out of it. Baking Procedure: Heat the oven at 180°C. After the oven is heated, place the roundels on the baking tray at a proper distance. Bake for 15 to 20 mins till golden brown. Before placing the roundels on the tray, you can also place a piece of cashew nut, almond or any other dry fruit as a topping. Serve with piping hot tea or coffee. Some important tips: ·Never handle the dough too much. Just mix the ingredients till done. ·Never add sugar when the dalda is hot. ·Never over heat or under heat the oven. It must be at the right temperature. ·After the cookies are ready, open the oven only after 15 mins. Do not disturb the oven again and again. ·Different flavors can also be added to the cookies. Chocolate cookies can be prepared by reducing the amount of sugar to 175gms and adding 25gms of cocoa powder. Similarly salty cookies can be prepared by adding salt to the dough and reducing the amount of the sugar. Black til goes very well along with salty cookies. (Use as a topping).
