The simplest way to ‘Naan’
Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 12: Most of us prefer the ‘elastic’ Naan when we go to a restaurant over a weekend. “It might be a difficult process,” one wonders. But not really! Vashi2Panvel.Com gives you the simplest recipe to make Naans without even using a tandoor. So, get set to impress your husband, in-laws and friends!
Dough making: 1)Take 500 gms maida, sieve it and keep it aside 2)Soak 10 gms of yeast in lukewarm water, add 1 tsp salt. Cover and keep it aside. 3)After the yeast becomes frothy add 1 tsp sugar. 4)Pour the yeast on the flour and mix it properly. 5)Make dough by adding required amount of water. 6)Cover with a damn cloth a keep it in a warm place for 30 mins. How to roast: 1.After the dough swells and becomes double the original size, knock it down again and make roundels of the dough. 2.Roll a roundel and give it an oval shape with the help of your hands (try not to use roller pin while making the naan, use your hands to do so.) 3.Heat the tawa on the gas. 4.Apply water on both the sides of the naan. 5.Place it on the tawa 6.Now, turn the tawa upside down on the fire of the gas, and cook until done. 7.The naan will leave the tawa automatically when cooked. 8.Now, place the tawa properly and apply butter on the naan. You can also sprinkle til (sesame seeds) on the naan if you wish. 9.Serve hot with a delicious sabzi!. Niharika Pandey The writer is a Hotel Management Graduate from Nagpur University
