Arrange your dining table with panache

Wondering how to impress him or serve at the best-arranged table to give a feel of eating eat out? Fret not for Vashi2Panvel.com brings to you the simplest tips, dos and don’ts on table arrangement!
Let us start from the basics… It is very important that you clean your dining table so that the glass top sparkles. Do not forget the chairs while cleaning the table and remember to arrange them properly. Next, place the tablemats properly. Now, place large plates on the center of each tablemat. If arrangement of spoon and fork renders you perplexed and this might be of help. On the right hand side of the plate place a fork and on the left hand side the spoon. On the top of the plate place a dessertspoon, the tip of the spoon should face the head of the fork. Place the bowls on the right side above the head of the spoon. In case you want to place two bowls or more arrange a bowl-triangle! Now place a clean, sipped glass on the right hand side just above the fork. At the center of the table, place a cruet set, pickle jars. If you wish to adorn your table you can place a bud vase (with just one flower). Don’ts while arranging the table: 1) Never place any flower arrangement at the center of the dining table. 2) Always use fresh flowers and a single flower with some filler. 3) Always wipe the plates and cutleries before placing them on the table. 4) Glasses must be spotlessly clean. 5) Never clutter the table by placing spoon stands, huge dishes etc. Niharika Pandey The writer is a Graduate in Hotel Management from Nagpur University
