Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 2: In this series, ‘Kissa Kursi Ka’, we take a look at the NMMC corporators’ work, what they are delivering and if there have been any slip-ups. Here both corporators and residents come face-to-face. The next in this series is Corporator Ravindra Ithape. He belongs to ward no. 81, responsible for Sectors-19 and 19A of Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

Ravindra Ithape's Report Card

He is…
A 40 years old smart and dynamic NCP Corporator. A graduate in commerce, Ithape also holds the portfolio of President of Navi Mumbai District Nationalist Youth Congress.

What have I done for my wards?
"I have made the Amra Road starting from Uran Phata towards Palm Beach Road signal concrete.

I have made efforts to put 250mm pipe line near Bhimashankar Society that has permanently solved the water problems in this locality.

I have built a CD drain system near Ryan International School.

With my efforts footpath with concrete pave blocks put from Bhimashankar Society to Navdurga Society and Shailesh Tower to Madhavi Society have been built up.

I have set up two bus stops on Vashi-Panvel Highway and one at Uran Phata.


What is pending?
“I have submitted proposals to NMMC for the following work:

1. Footpath from Jawahar Nagar Society to Ambuja Cement Society.

2. Veer Jija Mata Bhonsale Udyan on a land measuring 1,80,000 sq.ft. to be completed within one and half year.

3. To provide garden, lake and boat facilities in Sector-19A.

What are my plans?
I have planned the following work:

1. To repair the canal at Sectors 13, 19, 19A, 21, 23 and 25.

2. Widening of road from Saphal Society to Navdurga Society.

3. With the help of CIDCO, a road from Navdurga Society to Sector- 27 via new power house to be constructed.

4. Footpath and street lights work to be taken up between Ryan International School to Jawahar Nagar Society and Madhavi Society.


Public Opinion
Shammi Gandhi residing in Leynadri Society, Sector 19A complains, "Behind our society there is a lot of stagnant water in big potholes which may give rise to mosquito breeding. This needs to be taken care of."

Girija Shankar Shukla from Gokul Society opines, "Ithape is a very courteous man who is always ready to help whenever needed."

S.K.Borwankar from Bhimashankar Society says," I have no idea, what he has done in our area as I am very busy with my work schedule. But I have heard that he is a good person."

Kishor Tijare from Shailesh Tower says, "Ravindra Ithape has a good organizing capability, which we have been observing for the past many years."

Kapil Yadav from Om Dwarka Society said, “I have heard that he has done good jobs for this ward but I the problem of rain water stagnation still persists in this society."
