Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: August 2: Today Bank Of Maharashtra was clad in a college-like set up. More than a bank, it seemed to be a meeting ground for all passed out students of colleges affiliated to the Varsity! Why? Apparently, Mumbai University had tied up with the Bank of Maharashtra to provide convocation forms to the students. And, today being the last day for filling up the form, students from all streams had thronged the bank. A li’l birdie tells Chintamani that the student junta in the Nerul branch was immense but the bank staff was not too co-operative… “There were two counters for us but we were forced to make a one-line queue because they could not attend their regular customers,” lamented a student. Wonder why the bank agreed for this kinda arrangement with the Varsity?

Placement pressure for engineering nerds
Engineering students who have not yet been placed in their ‘dream companies’ are keeping their fingers crossed. While RAIT, that boasted to be the best in providing campus recruitments to its students seem to have retarded with few companies and fewer brands making their way here, other colleges like Pillai’s and Father Agnel’s managed to attract the larger fishes to their campuses. All the luck guys, from Chintamani!

Bhide exits, Jangam enters
Now for those who think that SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce is doing a ‘musical chair’ with the princi’s seat… For those who are ignorant, YB Bhide was the officiating principal and not a permanent one. He had presided over the princi’s chair in the absence of all-time-fave GVS who left in a short notice. And, the new princi, UB Jangam is a permanent one. So, don’t worry SIES kids you won’t have any more ups and downs, at least as far as your principal is concerned!
