Which Police station?

Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: July 15: The city of the 21st century unfortunately houses confused policemen. On the eve of 7th July, when Mumbai rocked under the bomb blasts, the angry citizens spat out against the failed intelligence network and the inactive police on the sites. At almost the same time, an occurence in Navi Mumbai demonstrated utter irresponsibility of the Police. It makes one question; is Police for Protection or Police for Pain, Pressure, Paranoia...

At around 7:00 p.m.; a woman- the victim, was returning home with her son via the C.B.D. highway when it started raining. The two took shelter under a tree on the highway next to a Neera stall that falls en route. Three young men came into the scene. Suspect was not a question as anyone can stand under a tree when it rains. Banking upon this vulnerable assumption, these men seem to have a planned modus operandi and have looted many people in a similar fashion, it was found later. Here, in this particular case, they removed a chopper and pointed it to the victim, Anandi Saini, snatched the gold chain from the shivering woman's neck and disappeared into the dark bushes. These goons have a prepared plan to function and have been operational since a long time.

Shivering with both cold and fear, she went to the C.B.D Police Station. They heard the situation and after a wait of a silent 3 hours, it was disclosed that the case belonged to the Kalamboli Police Station. It was 10:00pm already. Reaching Kalamboli was another trouble as the roads were jammed that day. They still decided to go thinking that the police wouldn’t act upon the case later saying, "you should have come that day itself"...as it is often heard. Upon reaching there they found that it was an invitation to another long, quiet wait only to be told in the end that the case belonged to the C.B.D. Police. She returned home at 1:30 a.m. in the night to extremely worried family members, as she could not contact anyone due to the network problems that day. She was soaked due to the rains and extremely shaken by the incident, choppers and goons revolving in her head the whole night. The next day was also spent in this juggling, with 5 visits to the spot only to decide who is to take the complaint. Three days into the matter, the complaint is yet unregistered. Her son runs around everyday to the indecisive police that just points fingers in the other direction each time.

How can Navi Mumbai boast of infrastructure and administrative excellence when the police do not even know where its territory lies? Whose responsibility is it to know this information? If any tragedy occurs in this area will the police sit and yawn in their chairs saying ‘it does not lie in our jurisdiction’? Where will the buck stop? And why should the citizens suffer due to this irresponsible, uninformed, insensitive, negligent attitude of the police?

If at the end of the day, we need to help ourselves out, like in the bomb blasts, I wonder why we need the police today.

Subject: BANDH, “OBITUARY NEEDS IT, PLEASE CALL FOR ONE”
Respected Sir / Madam,

This city of Bombay / Mumbai whatever you wish to call it, that’s what political Godfathers like to christen them. Various cities all over our country are named much after political pressures and derive maximum mileage. Then it all ends there, as their job is done and caring father in them vanish, disappears and politicians leave the rest to GOD to take care of about what they have ruined.

It’s obvious that the same pattern follows in our city’s day to day functioning too; politicians dictate their own terms and get back into their egg shell of self ego and self esteem. They cannot bow towards God sent calamities like rain, floods, land-slides etc so they start the name blame game. Later at defacing statues they hold the city to ransom by force calling a BANDH, because they forget God cannot get to them as their cowardice is hidden. Mumbai police too are equally to be held responsible as even they are puppets in the hands of (3P’s). Their corrupted (P)olice officers, (P)oliticians and (P)owerful Bhai’s. And, finally when terrorism strikes all of them vanish back like the tortoise in its shell and only pop out when danger is over. Mumbai is a paramount city just like the Bible, the more its persecuted the more likely it stand as the best seller the world over who can deny that. It’s high time our city begins to dictate terms to these Politicians who are politically vested interest minded, selfish, self-mileage achievers. Let’s teach them a lesson in humanity service irrespective of caste, creed and religion which Mumbaikars have so well distinguished from these politicians. We the citizens of this country challenge these so called packaged politicians “PLEAESE CALL FOR A BANDH OBITUARY NEEDS ONE” to mourn the DEAD of this city and country. If you have the guts! But, you want! Because you are a hypocrite, a coward with all wrong priorities. You will only call for one when…… any guesses!!! Statues are more precious to you than human lives lost. The whole world will bow down and pay homage, rather than lecture anti-terrorism.

Thanks you

Yours truly,
