Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: July 5: In this series ‘Kissa Kursi Ka’, we take a look at the NMMC corporators’ promises, what they are delivering and if there have been any slip-ups. Here both corporators and residents come face-to-face. The third in this series is Corporator Ashok Bhau Patil. He is committed to look after CBD Belapur Sector-9A, Sector-9N, Sector-1 and Agroli Village-Sector 29. He is also President of of 'A' ward Nerul Belapur committee.

He is..
A tall and stout 49 years old, down to earth, energetic worker. He is originally a resident of Agroli village which is famous for Ganpati festival celebrations and immersions of Ganesh idols of CBD in popular Agroli lake.

What have I done for my ward?

“ I have initiated the concept of one village with one Ganpati at Agroli village. With this concept all the residents of Agroli village make a single group and celebrate the festival in a united way. I have initiated building of a Community temple near the fly over bridge where more people can join for all such celebrations.

I have initiated Sewerage line work at Agroli village.

I have undertaken the renovation of Row Garden at sector-9.

I have recommended renovation of street lights for sector-9 and 9N.

I am arranging repair and ashphalting of road at sector-9

What are my plans?

I have proposed for concreting the nallah near Sion Panvel highway near Sector-1, and other nallah at Sector-9.

I have recommended building a protecting compound wall at the end of Sector-9.

I have proposed for making a footpath from Bhau Patil circle to fly over via Agroli village. During Ganesh immersions, and other such events pedestrians face lot of problems.

The Kaikani Garden and the Sector-9 nursery at present with CIDCO is not maintained properly. I plan to take over from them and maintain it.

Public Opinion

Nanjibbhai from Bombay Provision Stores sector-1 Market, said "We have no idea about who is our Corporator."

K. Nandkumar from Sapna Hardware Stores sector-9, said "Mr. Ashok Patil is very co-operative. Sometime back there was a big leakage in water line. When we informed him about it, Ashok Patil came running and arranged for necessary repairs. However the street lights, in this area are not proper for which we have already sounded Ashok Patil."

RM Shrirao from A-1/RH-4 Sector 9N, who is President of Residents Group of this sector said, "The nearby nallah was filled up by silt last year 26/7, due to which lot of rain water entered in to our locality. We have shown this to local Corporator Ashok Patil but so far no action has been taken"

KR Patel from F-10, sector-9N said, "The wall dividing sector-9N from other sectors built by CIDCO has fallen at several places , rain water from hill side enters in to our locality and sometimes snakes also come along. This job is still pending"

Ambavi Patel from Ganesh Provision Stores, Sector-29, Agroli village said, " Ashok Patil has arranged to clean up all the gutters here before rains, so we hope water clogging like last year shall not repeat this year."
