Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: June 30: Tomorrow is Lady Diana’s birthday and an NRI doctor based in Mumbai plans to celebrate it with great pomp and show. The doctor, Arjun Gaur has been greatly inspired by Lady Diana so much that he has created an entire island in a school set in over 100 acres in Karjat in her name.

“Princess Diana has been my inspiration. From her humble beginnings as a schoolteacher, she rose to become the First Lady of England. Her pleasant face and ever-smiling persona has been a great motivating factor,” confesses Dr Gaur, founded The Cambridge International Academy amid picturesque mountains about three years ago.

This school boasts state-of-the-art swimming pool, gymnasium, playgrounds, amusement park and a discotheque to boot besides the regular facilities. Also, a visual auditorium is an attraction here. The Cambridge International School currently houses over 125 students including 20 international scholars studying international curriculum with IGCSE affiliation from the Cambridge University, UK.

Adds Dr Gaur, ”It has been a steady and strong growth process for us. The Academy is today a home away from home for our students. The next step I felt was to pay tribute to the late Lady Diana so I decided to create a ten-acre manmade lake island with her statue.”

With the inauguration on July 1, Princess Diana’s Birth Anniversary, Dr Arjun Gaur is happy that his dream of immortalizing Lady Diana in India is concretized. “We had also extended our heartfelt invitation to the Princes Harry and William, but they were unable to attend due to military commitments. However, we have their best wishes,” smiles Dr Gaur.
