"I enjoy when I get emotional while singing": Anup Jalota at Megh Utsav
Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: June 26: Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota has only thought of music all his life. Known for his versatility, the charming and ever-obliging Anup Jalota always renders Bhajans and Ghazals with grace and finesse. No wonder, wherever he goes - East, West, North or South, his easy charm and mellifluous voice holds his audience spellbound in admiration. Jalota was in Navi Mumbai this Saturday for the famous Kanha Megh Utsav. It was an evening full of melody with devotional songs by the celeb singer Anup Jalota. In a tête-à-tête with Vashi2Panvel.Com, Anup Jalota shares his achievements, future plans and more. Excerpts of the Interview:
V2P: In how many concerts have you participated so far? In total I’ve participated in about 4000 concerts in both India and abroad. V2P: Which types of concerts give you maximum pleasure? I’ve enjoyed each and every concert where I’ve rendered my voice. However I cherish those concerts when my eyes get wet with tears… And, it happened today. V2P: Your name has appeared in Guinness Books of world record for highest number of platinum discs to your credit. How do you feel about this? I am thankful to God for this honour. In fact, I feel it’s more important to win people’s hearts. The true achievement is not the number platinum discs, which is no doubt a difficult task but for winning people’s heart is far more important. V2P: How did you like Navi Mumbai? I have liked this city very much. I feel that my songs, my voice and my heart are all recharged here. I’m sure the audience enjoyed my song but I have enjoyed more than them. This is a very beautiful place. You are living in a paradise. It is like Chandigarh - well organised and sparsely populated unlike the greater city. V2P: What about your next music album? My next album is Bolo Radhe, which is going to be released very soon. V2P: You have a magical voice, how do you maintain it? It is all God's gift. He has given… He takes care of it. V2P: What are your views on this Kanha Megh Utsav? These are very rare occasions when so many great artists perform in a series - Pandit Jasraj, Shubha Mudgal, Hema Malini… Music lovers of Navi Mumbai are lucky to witness this event. I am very thankful to the organizers for inviting me here. Umesh Malviya

Bhajans sang by you are so beautiful & melodious that many times the eyes get wet and makes you feel as if you just met God. I have always listened to your albums but listened to you live first time at the Shirdi Baba Temple in Aurora, Illinois, USA in July 2006. It was like a dream come true.
Thanks for all the bhajans and the momemts when you made us 'get lost in deep thoughts in search of God' during singing.
