Where stars descend to eat out?



Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: June 23: Eating out is a pleasure most of us indulge in but with celebs this pleasure is often out of bounds as they are mobbed in public spaces. So what do they do when they want to tickle their taste buds with food other than the one made at home? They go to restaurants that can ensure that they have a peaceful meal. This doesn’t necessarily have to be 5 star joints. They can also be smaller places where he is assured of good food and a safe ambience. Here, we speak to some stars and get a take on what their favourite place is. Chinese cuisine seems to be the top favourite among most celebrities.

Isha Koppikar says, “I love Chinese food and I regularly go to Golden Orchid in Bandra, Pavilion and Sheesha.” Isha says that she has had her best dining experience at Blue Elephant a Thai restaurant in Dubai. She further adds that, “You get really fresh vegetables abroad. So whenever I am in London I love to indulge in the sandwiches at Pret Manger.”

Fleur Xavier one of the top models in the glamour industry whose favourite cuisine is incidentally also Chinese says that she frequents Royal China and Versavi at Taj and adds that if she were to go on a date her obvious choice would be Versavi. “When I had visited Paris and Italy, I liked the French food there. I guess Paris has given me the best dining experience abroad,” says this gorgeous model. Adding to the list of Chinese food freaks is Anupama Verma a ravishing model and a well-known face in the industry and her regular food haunt in The Grand Maratha.

Amit Khanna who essays the role of Veer in the daily soap Yeh Dil Chahe More on Star One says that his weakness is Chinese, “I like Indian food too, basically Indian masala food. And yeah I also like Moghlai.” His favourite restaurant is Urban Thadka which is situated in Versorva. Apart from this he also adds that he frequents Sampan at Holiday Inn.

Hiten Tejwani another member to join the Chinese food lover club says that he regularly freaks out at Legacy Of China, Sampan at Holiday Inn and Urban Tadka and loves his wife’s company while visiting these joints. According to this tele-sensation starters & More is the place he would like to take his wife on a date.

Contradicting the tastes of the majority in the industry is Shreyas Talpade who received a lot of appreciation for his role in Iqbal; he loves Indian cuisine and hangs out at ‘Firangi Dhaba’ at Andheri, which is incidentally also a restaurant owned by a friend. “I like the Moghlai food there mainly chicken and mutton delicacy.” Talking about his dining experiences he says, “I once had mutton biryani at a restaurant ‘Four Seasons’ at Hyderabad and I think that’s the best food I have had till date.”

Jai Kalra the model who played the co-star opposite Konkana Sen in Page 3 opines that when it comes to dining out he is open to experimenting with various restaurants. Kalra the typical Punjabi guy that he is, he suggests that he loves Punjabi food and freaks out at various restaurants from Zenzi for salads to Mochas. He even visits Just Around The Corner, a restaurant in the suburbs for salads. Although he used to frequent Pizzeria to splurge on pizzas but no longer as he has cut down on pizzas due to health reasons.

However item girl Rakhi Sawant about her favourite restaurant and she is quick to retaliate, “Why should I give publicity to any restaurant?”

Now why didn’t the other stars think of that?
