Skiing: for the fearless adventure-seeker
If you’re looking for a something different something that’s more challenging and more exigent then skiing is the right thing for you. No matter what level of skier you are, there is always a new adventure waiting to challenge you at Auli, located in the Garhwal mountain range. While in Auli you get to be on clean stretches of 10-20 km of snow-covered mountain slopes. Besides, there is a descent of 500m from the ridge over a stretch of 3 km to add to the excitement. Gulmarg located in the lap of Himalayas is another mountaineering paradise. The slopes in Gulmarg varying between 8,700 and 10,500 feet make the ski runs the highest in India. Even the amateurs can enjoy with the ski lifts and the chair lifts. On researching, I discovered that Gulmarg also boasts of a gorgeous green golf course that happens to be the worlds highest.

Manali: adventure combined with comfort
If you are looking for an adventure holiday location that combines comfort with fun, then Manali would be a good option for you. Located in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, Manali is famous for adventure sports like skiing, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, rafting, trekking, kayaking, and mountain biking.

There are numerous destinations to enjoy adventure sports but if you’re looking for something unusual then I would advice you to go for a peaceful fishing expedition. An unspoiled fishing village in the beautiful natural surroundings, Cauvery Fishing Camp is the place to visit for an unforgettable adventure. Cauvery, located in southern India offers a range of activities from amateur fishing, professional angling, bird watching coracle boat ride, trekking, river rafting and outdoor camping. If not keen on fishing one could combine adventure with wildlife. Situated in the foothills of Central Himalayas, Jim Corbett National Park is noted for its tiger population and a great number of species. Leh: the ultimate high in adventure
If you are looking for a definitive high in adventure then according to me, there’s no place to beat Leh in India. Home to the ultimate trekking route for every traveler, Leh is a travel destination with several attractions. The treks from Spituk to the Markha valley and Lamayuru gompa to Chiling village alongside the Zanskar River are quite popular with the adventure seekers. Another trek path is from Likir to Temisgam. Leh also offers grounds for other sports like Polo. Leh also offers mountain biking on the second highest motor able road in the world.
