The event is expected to by inaugurated by Ajit Pawar, NCP leader. Both male and female winning team will get Rs 1, 11, 111, which is the biggest amount awarded to a Kabadi game till date.

Vashi2Panvel.Com: Navi Mumbai: September 3: Airoli Sports Association organised the fifth ‘Run for World Peace’ marathon for schoolchildren here at 8:00 am today. Around 1500 students from eighteen schools enthusiastically participated in the event. Pravin Modi, Vice President, Airoli Sports Association says, “When the idea of a marathon was concieved by us there were several terrorist attacks in Mumbai and elsewhere. We decided that we must start a marathon to campaign for world peace. Hence the name, ‘Run for world peace.’” [more...]

Yesterday Nerul Gymkhana witnessed various city schools locking horns for the finals of Hockey and Football matches. Besides, there was dance competition staged for the evening. Commander Kaher Singh, Prof. R. Subramaniam, Prof. Goth and Shuma Shirur had been invited as the guests of honour. “In India there are many sportspersons but they are neglected because they are not given a deserving platform. I feel Nerul gymkhana has provided them a perfect platform to show their ability,” says Comm. Singh. Vashi2panvel.com: Navi Mumbai: February 11:The Nerul Gymkhana Sports Festival that flagged off on Monday, 6th February is getting heated up with every passing day. More students, more competition and of course more prizes. Though festival is nearing an end, the excitement is still fresh! The sixth day day of the festival was all about swimming and football matches. The events started at around 11:30 with free style, breast stroke, butterfly stroke and back stroke swimming events under various age groups – under 8yrs, under 10yrs, under 12yrs and 14 yrs. The festival saw almost 500 entries, from various schools and colleges from all across Navi Mumbai, in each category. And the leading school in the above events has been the Vashi-based Fr. Agnels, followed by Apeejay and St.Mary’s High School. A whopping twenty-five winners in the swimming categories are from Fr.Agnel’s itself.
