Experience: Worked as Apprentice Engineer in Hindustan Latex Ltd.(HLL), Thiruvananthapuram. Details: I had worked as an Apprentice Engineer in Hindustan Latex Ltd, Thiruvananthapuram for a period of over nine months. HLL is a plastic processing, Pharmaceutical and Medical Health care manufacturing unit, producing Blood collection bags, Intrauterine Contraceptive devices, Surgical Sutures, Ceredrain and Tissue Expander etc. Nature of work: Quality control and assurance in each receiving, in process and final product stage of products. Also Shift scheduling of line inspectors in the Cu-T unit and dealing with the customer complaints. The experience here has enabled me to me understand and experience the various quality standards including ISO-9001: 2000, ISO- 14001:1996, ISO-18001: 1999 (OSHAS) etc., to which the organization fit into, apart from gaining valuable insights into the day today functioning of a large organization. Education: B .Tech in Chemical Engineering from Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur, Calicut University (62.82%) in July 2004. Plus Two from Higher Secondary Board, Kerala (78%) in March 2000. Projects Undertaken: 1. “Refining and Iodization of Common Salt” The project highlights on different stages of Iodized salt production starting from crude salt production through refining and final iodization step. The project includes the material & energy balance of the processes, design of process equipments, cost estimation of the project and finally the plant layout.
2. “Manufacture of Phosphoric acid” It is a detailed study of the processes used in the manufacture of Phosphoric acid. The project work is carried out in F.A.C.T, Cochin Division.
Seminar Presented: Submerged combustion: The paper deals with an alternate heating method which is emission free and of high efficiency.
Professional Memberships: Active member of ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) Active member of IICHE (Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers) Cochin Chapter.
